For the past year or so things in my life have hit a steep decline. I don't feel any pity for myself, life happens to everyone, I just wonder if I'm making a choice that will further that decline or not. My parents decided to split, and, this is my fault on this, so did my grades. By the time senior year ended, my grades were terrible, as apposed to the 3.6 average that I had held to two years before. No A in the group, only a couple B's. I went of to college to get my dad off my back. I wasn't ready

I flunked out after half semester, so I decided to come home and join the military. Wise or not, I don't know.

I dont think anyone is ready for college when they enter it. I myself went to a college that specialized in a few degrees only. I got a degree in Radio and TV broadcasting. While it was a college and had many of the elements of one....it wasnt like a regular community college or 4 year university.

After graduating, I went back for a degree in education and had to go through my local community college before I transfered. The community college was hard, as it wasnt what I was used to. I had horrible study habits and struggled and finished poorly in many of them. When I finally transfered to the four year college...after one semester, I realized that I wasnt going to make it. When I came back that fall, I changed my ways and refocused and I finished with a overall 3.16gpa; not bad for a guy who got 2.0 or less during high school.

College is wayyyy different from high school. you cant really sluff off and get away with it. The teachers dont take crap from their students and some classes can be very hard and challenging. But, if you focus and put your mind to it...you will finish well.

Dropping out of college isnt a wrong decision....because hopefully you will regroup and try it again soon after some time off. But, I believe that it is wrong if you decide to never go back.
