If you want to hurt a soldier

I'm in the United States Air Force, and I take my mission very seriously. I love my country, I serve it and I am willing to die for it. I do this because there are people that I couldn't stand to see get hurt. These people I protect, I realize they have different views, different lives and they might even believe what I do for them is wrong, but I still do it because that's my mission.
What I can't understand is why you would go up to someone who is trying to protect you and say, "Why don't you go get a real job." If you want a way to hurt a soldier at his core, thats it.

So, ummm, how hard did you hit this person?

If someone had said that to me when I was in the service they definately would have been picking up their teeth.

Thanks for serving.

Who would say something like that? They need to go live in some lawless, defenseless nation and learn some appreciation.

We appreciate you.

In my Army and Army National Guard career I kept in mind that one of the rights my service preserved for the people was the right to despise me.

Enjoy every minute you are in the USAF, believe me, it all goes by far too quickly. Celebrate those who would look you in the eye and express such hateful words. Celebrate the fact that you weren't required by law to kill the person for saying it.

Celebrate the freedom that short sighted fools refuse to even acknowledge they have.

Thank you for your service!!!
